Evan and Ashton love to go sledding. We go every Saturday for about 2 hours. Evan and Ashton would stay longer if their dad wasn't such a whimp. I posted a video of "hurricane fast hill" (Evan named it). Come on out and give it a try if you dare.

Yay, I finally figured it out...
K, well now that our web administrator gave me 'author' status, i'm all over this!!
So Texas winderts are weird.
Last year this time it was cold enough that I was wearing a coat outside and the cold is a humid cold and so really sticks to your insides and it doesnt matter how many layers you wear...but this year is different...it has gotten cool enought that i need a jacket in the mornings and the evenings but the day is like upper 70's and really pleasant...now we have a nasty front coming on and it is going to be in the mid 80s and 100% humid...what is this?
Anyway, people put up christmas lights and there is a radio station that plays Christmas music 24/7 that I tend to enjoy, so at least I can remember its Christmas...even though it is not at all like i remember. I sure to miss you all though! I am trying to come up with some good traditions to start on my own down here in Htown...so if anyone has any suggestions?!!!

Transfers for Ryan
Here's the latest from Ryan. He says its -15 to -20 degrees, and I wonder, Why do people live in places that are that cold?
So, transfers...we're both staying. I'm trying to be happy about thatbut it's hard...Elder Goss and I had such a strong relationship and 3months with him was tough...Elder Mosley and I are not best friends so 3months with him will be diffrent. lots of prayer.
This week has been pretty good though, we had a baptism, and it wasawesome, sometimes goin' through little success is hard, but that wasjust what I needed to remind me while I'm here.
Last p-day we went curling in Medicine Hat, curling as lame as it lookson t.v. was a lot of fun, it was very difficult too.
let's see what else?
we found this crazy house with a bunch of newfies (people from newfoundland) if you ever meet anyone from there, wait 30 seconds and theywill say something totally ridiculous, can't even explain it.
we found these way awesome old purple jerseys, like old soccer jerseythat say "mormon warriors" on the front, and of course I got number 7.
the ward had a nativity display...live animals, I got my picture takenas a wise man, and we found a new place to e-mail so I'll send somepictures soon.
really excited for christmas.
I think there was something I've been meaning to say but of course Idon't remember it.
if you want to send letters (hint hint) send them to the mission office,I might not recieve them for 6 weeks but I would feel important if theyjust piled up...24 Lakewood GreenBrooks, AB T1R 0S8is my Brooks address, I'll be here for at least six more weeks.
mom I don't think I understood your question...when we get transferreddepending on where you are in the mission, if Calgary you just meet inCalgary and drive to new area, if down south, do the same thing inLethbridge. a big van goes back and forth between the 2. is that whatyou mean?
keep it crisp, Elder Barton
Hopefully the Lord will show Ryan that he is in that place with that companion for a reason. They had a baptism together so they must be doing something right.
Anyway, one more week of the semester. If I can survive it I'm going to have the most awesome Christmas ever!!!
Love you all,
Heather

Elf Kit
Hi Fam -
A few of you were asking for the info on the Elf Kit. My assistant at work had a cute gift idea of giving what she called and elf kit. She has put in a few things that one might need in order to get their Christmas gifts ready to go for Christmas morning like scissors, tape, batteries, notebooks, ribbon, etc...and called it an elf kit. She then asked me to write poem to explain the kit. So here is the poem if any of you would like to creat your own!
Greetings to you from Santa’s Toy Shop
Our records show your house is on the big guys stop
Your Christmas wishes are coming along just fine
And the elves are working hard on the toy assembly line
But I do have some news that I think you should hear
Toyland has been unbelievably busy this year
The Elves are all working day and night
To make sure they get your gifts just right
All of the items on your Christmas list are ready to go
But would you mind checking our work before placing the bow?
We have given you some things that we think you might require
Before snuggling in for the night with cookies by the fire
There are batteries and scissors which always come in handy
Plastic bags to store extra pieces and parts works just dandy
There is a notebook to write down all the great stuff you get
And other things that will make sure you are all set!
So thank you for helping us with the gifts this year
We hope your Holiday is filled with good cheer
The happiest Christmas is our wish for you
And we hope your New Year is first rate too!
